Parallel Lies by Ridley Pearson

Parallel Lies by Ridley Pearson was a decent thriller.  The story and actions were a little far fetched, but an enjoyable read.

The story centers around ex-homicide cop Peter Tyler called in by the NTSB to investigate a murder on a Northern Union Railroad freight train.  Peter quickly determines that there is more behind this murder than two hobos fighting.  The investigation leads him to start tracking Umberto Alvarez, who blames the Northern Union Railroad for his wife and children’s deaths.

Not a bad novel.  It kept me engrossed.  The one point that came up was how the United States has not invested in laying high speed tracks like European and Asian countries have done.  Now that I am commuting over 2 hours each way, I would welcome a high speed LIRR commuter train from Penn Station to Ronkonkoma.
