Trunk Music by Michael Connelly was an excellent police detective novel. The story has lots of twists and turns that kept me riveted.
The plot revolves around Hollywood homicide detective Harry Bosch who has just returned to duty after an involuntary stress leave. His first case back is a straight to video movie producer who is found shot to death in this Rolls-Royce. The investigation leads Harry and his partners to cross paths with the Mob, internal affairs, organized crime intelligence division, FBI and more. Nothing in this investigation is as it appears. While in Las Vegas, Harry meets up with a former FBI agent lover who he helped send to jail.
I was very impressed by Trunk Music and plan to search out more Michael Connelly novels. Recommend Trunk Music to anyone who likes detective novels as it is a goody. Surprised it didn’t make it to the New York Times best seller list.
