Brass Verdict by Michael Connelly

Brass Verdict by Michael Connelly was an excellent lawyer/detective thriller.  I have only read a few of Michael Connelly’s novels, but plan to search out more of them.

The plot revolves around Mickey Haller, who I believe has been featured in other Michael Connelly novels and Harry Bosh, who I has been the center character in other Connelly novels I have read.  After a year hiatus of practicing law, Haller inherits the practice of a lawyer colleague who has been murdered.  One the cases are a high profile case involving a movie producer, Walter Elliot.  Elliot is accused of shooting his wife who recently asked for a divorce and her lover, a German national with a shaky past.

The story moved quickly and had many twists.  There weren’t too many characters that you got lost with who is who.  I found it very hard to put this novel down for the last 1/3 of it.  Even was reading it this weekend instead of on the train when I do the majority of my reading.  There is a zinger at the end that is an unexpected and probably not necessary.  I recommend Brass Verdict to anyone who likes lawyer/detective novels.
